Copyright and DMCA policy

Our approach

We respect intellectual property. We respond to notices that meet the requirements of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512) and to equivalent notices under other laws.

Sending a notice

Use the contact form and choose the topic "Copyright notice". The form asks for each of these elements:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. Identification of the material on this site, with its URL.
  4. Your contact information, including an email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Counter-notification

If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notification through the same form. It must contain your signature; identification of the material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where we may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice.

We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notification, unless the person who sent the notice tells us they have filed a court action.

Misrepresentation

Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), a person who knowingly misrepresents that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please make sure a notice is well founded before sending it.

Repeat infringers

The site has no user uploads. If we ever publish material contributed by others, we will stop accepting material from anyone who repeatedly infringes.

Forwarding notices

We may forward a notice or counter-notification, including the contact details in it, to the party concerned.
